The A14 was closed in west Suffolk after a van caught fire.
Emergency services were called to the blaze on the eastbound carriageway, between junction 42 and junction 43 near Bury St Edmunds, at about 10.35am on Monday.
Both lanes were shut, but have since reopened.
A spokesman for Suffolk Fire and Rescue Service said the van was "well alight" and is in a lay-by.
Queues were starting to form in the area, according to the AA Traffic Map.
