Paralympian wheelchair rugby star Andy Barrow visited West Suffolk College as part of the Active Colleges initiative.
Mr Barrow, one of Great Britain wheelchair rugby’s most successful players, has competed at five European Championships, three World Championships and two Paralympic Games.
The former Great Britain captain, who led the team at the Beijing Paralympics visited the college in Bury St Edmunds in his capacity as one of Sport England’s Sporting Champions – teaching several sessions of inclusive multi sports to students on sports courses as well as students on the Life Skills courses.
Mr Barrow said: “The aim of Active Colleges is to increase the number of students in FE Colleges taking part in sport regularly, so it is something I’m very passionate about.”
He added: “As a Sport England Sporting Champion, I hope I can inspire all the young people in attendance to sustain their sports participation and raise their own aspirations of what they can achieve.”
