A 'shopping village' is a complex of independent businesses, ranging from plant shops to cafés, often centred around a courtyard.

Here are some of the best ones you can visit in Suffolk to pick up unique gifts, local produce and much more. 

1. Stonham Barns 

Offering facilities to suit all ages, there is plenty to do at Stonham Barns including a 9-hole golf course, foot golf and shopping. 

The shopping village is filled with a plethora of unique shops including Boutique at the Barns, Celebration and Toys and The Vintage Cellar. 

2. Elveden Courtyard

Home to two shops Elveden Courtyard is a great place to visit for a bit of retail therapy. 

Described as an escape from the high street Elveden has ample parking and offers a wide range of unique products. 

There is also a dog friendly cafe on site. 

3. Jimmy's Farm 

One of Suffolk's most popular attractions is Jimmy's Farm.

As well as the much-loved farm shop there is also Piggies Sweets and Toys and Clarkes of Walsham. 

4. Baythorne Hall

From a wine shop to antiques Baythorne Hall has it all. 

The antiques and retro centre opened in 2019 and sells a wide range of garden wares, collectables, jewellery, lighting and more.

There is also a butchery, farm shop and garden shop at Baythorne Hall which is located just near Clare. 

5. Alder Carr Farm

The Needham Market farm is hope to a butchers, farm shop and craft centre.

The farm has sheep and laying hens and highland cattle. 

There is also a tearoom and restaurant specialising in fresh, local food as well as a children's play area.
