A section of the A14 was closed overnight following a serious multiple-vehicle crash.
The eastbound carriageway was closed near Bury St Edmunds at around 9.45pm after reports of an incident involving two cars.
Traffic was also stopped on the westbound carriageway but was allowed to pass soon after.
Fire engines and National Highways teams assisted Suffolk Police officers in clearing the obstruction, which was made safe around 12.40am.
Ambulances were also at the scene but it is currently unknown if anyone was injured.
