A letter sent to parents, that has been seen by this newspaper, states Ms Taylor has "already made a significant impact upon the day-to-day running" of the college.
The letter added: "Ms Taylor is an experienced educator and school leader, and has already made a significant impact upon the day-to-day running of our college.
"She is currently on secondment to Thurston Community College through the Penrose Trust, having led Claydon High School since 2017 as head and was previously their deputy head."
During her time as interim headteacher at Thurston Community College, Ms Taylor has guided the school through an Ofsted inspection which it is currently waiting for a result from.
Ms Taylor will begin her new role from September 1, when the new academic year starts.
