An East Anglian motoring group has announced it is bringing two new vehicle manufacturers to the UK.

Appointed as the chosen partner for China’s largest car exporter Chery International, Desira Group is set to launch Omoda and Jaecoo at its dealerships in Norwich, Lowestoft and Bury St Edmunds.

Stuart Stone, managing director, said: “This is such an extremely exciting and huge opportunity for Desira Group.

“Having just visited China, seen and driven the new Omoda and Jaecoo cars coming, we are now preparing to open all three Dealerships in July.

“The build quality and attention to detail in the cars is fantastic, you can tell they have such confidence in the car with the anticipated seven-year warranty and eight-year battery warranty."

Potential buyers can choose from the Omoda 5 petrol and electric models, with prices anticipated from £25,000, with the Jaecoo 7 mid-size SUV set to launch later this year.

With more than 50 years of trading heritage in the region, Desira has eight dealerships including in Norwich, Great Yarmouth, Lowestoft, Diss and Bury St Edmunds.

Omoda and Jaecoo will be added to manufacturers including Fiat, Nissan, Peugeot, Citreon and Suzuki which are available through Desira.

The company was founded by John Desira in 1972 from a garage in South Lopham, near Diss, and is now one of the largest privately owned Fiat Dealer groups in the country, employing 200 staff.

Omoda and Jaecoo vehicles will be available from its dealerships in Heigham Street in Norwich, Horn Hill in Lowestoft and Bedingfield Way in Bury.

Mr Stone added: “Desira Group cannot wait to be part of this journey and wish all the new locations every success.

"We trust you find this as exciting as we do and look forward to showing all our valued and new customers these fantastic cars.”
