We are now less than 24 hours away from the Suffolk Show, the biggest event in our county’s calendar.
It is expected that 90,000 people will descend on Trinity Park in Ipswich this year for the Suffolk Show, which is set to take place on Wednesday and Thursday.
The show brings record numbers of visitors to Suffolk each year, all of them ready to be wowed by the best our county has to offer.
Particular favourites from years gone by have been the showjumping, with crowds gathering to watch our county’s horsemen and horsewoman showing off their skills. We are particularly excited to see some Suffolk Punches tomorrow, the breed being the pride of our county.
There will also be the traditional cattle competitions, judging our region’s sheep, pigs and cows.
The show is also the chance to sample some delicious food, reared, baked or grown right here in Suffolk. From chocolate covered strawberries to sizzling sausages, you will be hard-pressed not to find something that takes your fancy.
We are also hoping that this year’s show will be visited by royalty, with Prince Richard, the Duke of Gloucester, due to make an appearance on Thursday.
At the time of reporting, the weather looks set to be fairly patchy with the chance of rain hovering throughout the day.
However, regular visitors to the Suffolk Show will know that it will take more than a shower of rain to put a dampener on spirits!
Gates will open at 7am both days. Last entry is 7pm on day one, and 5.30pm on day two. All trade stands are open from 8.30am until 6pm on both days.
Adult admission is £35, senior citizen is £30 and people aged between 15 and 18 years old is £13.
Under 15's go free at the Suffolk Show.
