Eight homes could be built in a west Suffolk village under new plans submitted the district council.
Documents have been lodged with West Suffolk Council for homes on land west of Edmund's Hill in Stradishall, near Haverhill.
Cloptons Estate is seeking permission to demolish an existing cold store and build eight homes in their place.
Pre-application proposals, visible on the local authority's website, sought to build 12 homes on the land.
However, the layout was considered to be "cramped" and "out of character" with the adjacent conservation area.

Instead the development will consist of eight homes, two of which will be single-storey dwellings.
A planning statement said: "In order to facilitate development, the cold store will need to be demolished. The demolition of this building will offer a visual improvement to this part of the village."
A decision on the proposals will be made be made by planning officers at West Suffolk Council at a later date.
