A hotel could be converted into a home under a new proposal.
Plans to transform The Northgate in Bury St Edmunds into a residential dwelling were submitted to West Suffolk Council in June.
The property was used as a bed and breakfast with nine rooms up until March of 2023.
After more than a year on the market, the hotel was purchased by a private buyer after being listed on Rightmove for £2,000,000.
Speaking at the time former owners Chestnut Group said: "Under new ownership. After almost nine years operating in the town centre, The Northgate has now been sold to a private buyer."

Under the planning application, the hotel would be converted into a residential dwelling which was what the property was originally constructed for during the Victorian era.
A supporting planning statement said: "This proposal to re-convert the hotel to a dwelling will significantly reduce activity on site addressing the neighbour's concerns about noise and disturbances associated with the hotel use."
An additional garden will also be planted to improve biodiversity in the area.
