Residents have been asked to share their views on plans for around 60 new homes in Clare, as the town council has already voiced objection.
Rainier Developments is bringing forward an outline planning application for the site south of Cavendish Road, opposite the Denbury Homes 53-home Weavers Way site.
A leaflet to residents from the developer states the site has been allocated for development by West Suffolk Council in the emerging Local Plan.
The letter states 40% of the new homes would be managed by a housing association for affordable rent and sale.
The plans are described as "sensitively designed to respect and integrate with Clare and the surrounding area".
The proposal includes a new public car park for the town, as well as additional public space, footpaths and an orchard.
Clare Town Council has already voiced an objection to the plans which has been published on their website.
"Clare Town Council does not support the principle of any large-scale development on this site unless the existing infrastructure is upgraded/improved by provision of a new central car park, traffic alleviation measures, increased sewerage capacity, and increased provision for education, doctor’s surgeries and public transport links," it said.
"Of particular concern is the lack of facilities for the increasing number of young people living in the town."
Rainier Developments has asked residents to share their views to be considered as they finalise proposals.
This can be done via email at cambridge.planning@savills.com or by calling 01245 293237 or 01245 293243 by Friday, August 30.
Rainier Developments, based in Henley-in-Arden, has a combined in-house experience of more than 150 years.
Planning permission for the Denbury Homes Weavers Way site was granted in November 2023.
According to its website, the showhome launch will take place this autumn.
