A yellow heat health alert has been issued for Suffolk as warmer temperatures are set to return.
The alert, which has been issued by the UK Health Security Agency and Met Office, is in place until 9am on Thursday.
It comes after days of unsettled weather for the county - with some places experiencing heavy rainfall on Saturday.
However, parts of Suffolk could reach highs of 28C on Wednesday, the Met Office has warned.
Temperatures are expected to peak between 1pm and 5pm across the county.
According to the warning, that covers the whole of East Anglia an "observed increase in mortality across the population likely, particularly in the 65+ age group or those with health conditions, but impacts may also be seen in younger age groups".
The alert also notes that an increased demand for remote healthcare services is "likely" and the internal temperatures in care settings, including hospitals and care homes, could exceed the recommended threshold for clinical risk assessment.
