A yellow weather warning for heavy rain and thunderstorms in Suffolk and Norfolk has been issued by the Met Office.
The warning will be in force from 9pm on Saturday to 6pm on Sunday.
Travel could be affected across East Anglia with poor driving conditions and rail and bus services could be cancelled.
Flooding of homes and businesses is also possible and some communities could be cut off as roads flood.
The Met Office is also warning of a small chance of fast-flowing or deep floodwater causing danger to life.
It is advising motorists not to drive where possible but if it is necessary to slow down, use main roads, use dipped headlights, and leave a larger gap between the car in front.
Car owners have also been asked not to park vehicles in flood-risk zones.
The warning has also been issued for London, South West England, Wales, the West and East Midlands and Yorkshire.
