A 44 mile diversion will be in place over the coming days due to highway repairs in west Suffolk.

Suffolk County Council will start the work on Moor Hall Road, on the A1092 in Clare, from this evening.

The closure will be in place from 7pm on Thursday, September 12, until Saturday, September 14 at 5am to put in lining and studs after surface dressing.

The diversion will take drivers from Stoke by Clare through Clare, Cavendish and Alpheton, up towards Bury St Edmunds, through Horringer, Chedburgh down to Haverhill and vice versa.

The route will follow the A1092 up to the A134 and down the A143.

The diversion route's full length will add around an hour to motorist's journeys.
