A drug dealer who was found with 18 bags of cocaine and more than £1,000 in cash hidden in a coffee cup has been jailed.
On May 2 of this year, officers from the Sentinel Team stopped a Toyota Prius in Grunty Fen Road, in Ely, which had first been spotted in Suffolk.
The car was suspected to have been involved in the supply of drugs in Newmarket and Cambridgeshire.
The driver, Denis Sylaj of Arbury Road in Cambridge, ran from police but was caught after a short chase.
The 20-year-old was arrested at the scene on suspicion of possession with intent to supply class A drugs and was taken to Bury St Edmunds police investigation centre to be questioned.
Sylaj was charged with possession with intent to supply class A drugs, driving a vehicle without third party insurance, driving otherwise than accordance with a licence and possession of a fraudulent driving licence.
He pleaded guilty to all charges when he appeared at Ipswich Crown Court on Monday last week and was sentenced to 32 months in prison.
Sylaj was also disqualified from driving for 22 months and forfeited £2,380 in cash and an iPhone.
