A lapdancing club in a west Suffolk town has reapplied for its licence to continue using the site as a "sex establishment".
Heaven Gentlemen's Club & Late Night Bar in Newmarket is seeking permission from West Suffolk Council for the renewed use of the site in the basement of 109 High Street.
An application submitted on September 13 by Newmarket Entertainment Ltd said the director has been responsible for the running of sex establishments since 2013, also running Climax in Colchester.
They then began operating Heaven in Newmarket in 2017.
The application reads: "Because of this extensive experience, the director is fully aware of the regulations associated with running a sex establishment, especially the impact this has on the local community and the necessity to work closely with the local authorities and public to ensure the establishment works within the rules and regulations required."
The application states the typical clientele of the venue are well-behaved middle-aged men and there are normally between five and 15 dancers with six to nine staff working at one time.
The capacity of the venue is 110 and the application document says the only articles sold are dances.
It would be open seven days a week from 7pm to 2am Monday, Tuesday and Wednesday, 7pm to 3.20am Thursday, Friday and Saturday, and 7pm to 3am on Sunday.
The last date for representations on the application is October 12, 2024.
Anyone wishing to oppose the application can write to the to the Licensing Team, West Suffolk Council, West Suffolk House, Western Way, Bury St Edmunds, IP33 3YU, or by email at licensing@westsuffolk.gov.uk.
