The opening of a new health club in Bury St Edmunds has taken a step closer as a premises licence application has been submitted for the site.
David Lloyd Clubs is set to open at Sandlands Drive in Marham Park in winter this year and now the company has applied to West Suffolk Council's licensing team for permissions, including the sale of alcohol.
The application requests the club is allowed to sell alcohol between 10am and 11pm every day, as well as extended hours on New Year’s Eve and bank holidays, with the occasional sale of alcohol for extended hours up to 1am.
The health club will include a 100-plus station gym and a range of Signature group exercise classes, including the family group classes, David Lloyd REBELS.
It will also have an indoor and outdoor pool, tennis and padel courts, expert tennis and swimming coaching for adults and children, a timetable packed with kids activities and sports coaching, and an indoor and outdoor spa retreat.
Memberships opened on June 1 and the centre is set to open in winter this year.
