Parts of Suffolk could see a 10C bump in temperatures this week during a short period of warmer weather.
The Met Office is forecasting that the chilly temperatures seen at the weekend will give way to much milder conditions during the week, with parts of the county seeing highs of 20C.
According to the forecaster, the drastic shift in temperature is expected to peak on Wednesday when a wave of hot air coming from Spain over the Pyrenees will hit the UK.
Sudbury and Saxmundham will be among the warmest places in the county with temperatures hitting 20C.
Ipswich, Haverhill and Bury St Edmunds are expected to reach highs of 19C.
Areas along the coast will feel highs of around 16C, the Met Office has said.
Tom Morgan from The Met Office said: “It’s not going to be an Indian summer – an Indian summer is a period of fine, settled weather with widely high temperatures after a period of frosts.
“We have had some frost but it’s only going to be a day or two that we see these high temperatures.”
