The first storm of the season has been named and it is set to bring strong winds and heavy downpours to Suffolk.
Storm Ashely is expected to hit the UK on Sunday bringing with it gale force winds and torrential rain.
The Met Office has warned that although the main areas that will be impacted will be parts of Scotland and Northern Ireland Suffolk will still affected by the storm.
A spokeswoman for the Met Office said Suffolk should expect strong winds and perhaps gales at times on Sunday with a chance of some rain, especially in the afternoon.
According to the Met Office gale force nine winds will hit the county on Sunday after days of unsettled weather.
Earlier this week wind speeds were forecast to be around 41mph. However, it now believed winds could reach up to 50mph along parts of the Suffolk coast.
The gales are expected to be at their strongest between 10am and 7pm on Sunday.
Met Office deputy chief meteorologist Tony Wisson, said: “Storm Ashley will bring strong winds for most of the UK on Sunday before it clears on Monday."
As well as strong winds Storm Ashley is expected to bring heavy rainfall to the county on Sunday.
