A water company has apologised for disruption following a leak on a west Suffolk road.

The leak appeared in Bedingfeld Way, in Bury St Edmunds, and Anglian Water has confirmed it was caused by a burst water main.

An Anglian Water spokesperson said: "We’re sorry for any disruption from a burst water main on Bedingfield Way in Bury St Edmunds.

"Unfortunately, due to a high volume of work, our teams have needed to prioritise other issues in the area.

"We understand the inconvenience and frustration this has caused."

The spokesperson said teams of engineers are due to begin repairs this week.

They continued: "In order to keep our engineers and other road users safe while we work, we may need to close part of the footpath.

"We’d like to thank customers for their patience while we complete this repair."

The spokesperson said customers' supplies should not be impacted by the burst but issues can be reported on the website at https://www.anglianwater.co.uk/your-local-area/report-an-issue/.
