Suffolk Highways has given an update on the work to build a new bridge in a village road.
The work to replace the bridge along A1088 Bridge Farm Bridge in Stowlangtoft, near Bury St Edmunds, began on July 22.
Suffolk Highways has now confirmed that the construction of the supports for the new bridge are being installed and the steel reinforcement is almost complete on the south side of the structure.
A spokesman for Suffolk Highways said: "Works continue on the northern side, with the additional piles being prepared for the steel reinforcement.
"Teams will shortly be installing timber shuttering to both sides of the bridge ahead of a concrete pour to strengthen the supports."
Earlier this month Suffolk Highways announced that the road closure in place for the works would be pushed back by two months.
It was originally hoped the work to replace the bridge would be completed by Friday, December 20, however a new provisional reopening date has been given for February 28.
Last month, Suffolk Highways reminded drivers to stick to the official diversion route as nearby roads experience an increase in traffic trying to bypass the closure by using unofficial and "unsuitable" diversion routes.
